David Froggatt- Show Horses

David Froggatt has been involved with horses since he was 16 years old. Coming from a non- horsey background he had to learn everything from scratch and his first equine being a donkey. He then got his first pony a Welsh Section C called 'Smokey Joe'. He did all pony club activties with Smokey and got a keen eye for jumping.  When growing too big for Smokey he loaned a couple of horses and then eventually his dad bought him a ex- racehorse that he evented and affiilated showjumped to grade B.

Over the years he had some very different horses, all teaching him different things and that every horse is different. Amongst them was a 6 month old Part Bred Arab 'Crystal Kalooka' ,  who got him addictited to showing and was the first horse he qualified for the Horse of the Year Show, in the small riding horse class. Over the years David has done variety of disciplines, competing up to advanced dressage (which he still competes in), show jumping, eventing, team chasing and driving. David has always been involved with horses, whether schooling, backing or teaching.  He is also on four judging panels- British Show Horse Association, Arab Horse Society, BSPA and ROR.

Since David has had horses, his partner John David Wilkinson has been there to drive to shows and help out. In 2002 they bought their farm together which is situated in North West Lancashire. They have  13 stables and around 20 acres of grazing land. Their head groom Ben Hester has been working for them since 2004. He also competes in the ring and can usually be found running round after David at the horse shows (organising things, haha).  Ben has a National Diploma in Equine Managment and has passed his BHS stages to level 3.
